How InHive works
InHive is project management for client work. An agency, studio, or consultancy runs one hive (the organization). Inside it, clients own projects. A project is where the work lives: tasks, documents, time, chat, and a knowledge base that remembers what was said and written.
This is the user guide — how to do the work, not how the product is built.
The shape of a hive
Section titled “The shape of a hive”Hive (your organization)├── People — who is in the hive, and their role├── Clients — companies you bill│ └── Projects — one engagement│ ├── Tasks (board / table / map)│ ├── Features and decisions│ ├── Documents → knowledge base│ ├── Time → client invoices│ └── Chat, calls, Ask, assistant├── My Work / Schedule / Dashboard — across projects└── Tickets — client requests (a ticket is still a task)Admins and managers see every project. Members only see projects they have been added to.
Start here
Section titled “Start here”- Get started — create or join a hive, invite people, land the first project without rebuilding a board by hand.
- Your account and hive — profile, appearance, and how a hive differs from a personal login.
- Platform plans — what Studio, Team, and Enterprise include, and the 14-day trial. The subscription is the platform plan. Provider, key, and the monthly token cap are AI settings, not a second product.

Two money flows
Section titled “Two money flows”They are easy to mix up. They never share a screen.
- Time and invoicing — you bill your clients from hours on tasks.
- Billing — your hive pays InHive (seats, platform plan).
Words we use on purpose
Section titled “Words we use on purpose”- Hive — the organization. Onboarding says “Create your hive.”
- Platform plan — Studio / Team / Enterprise.
- AI settings — how that plan runs AI (provider, key, tier, budget). Never “AI plan.” See AI settings.
- Ask — project Q&A. It cites sources and does not create tasks. If the hive set an AI display name, that name is what you see.
- Assistant — a sitting that proposes writes. You approve.
