Settings and people

Organization settings (/settings) is manager-gated. People (/team) is the roster. Your personal profile is Account.

Members who open settings are sent to Org knowledge. Managers see the full hive page. Keys are never sent back to the browser — only “is a key set.”

Hive timezone drives digests, due-soon, and standup. A person’s timezone only changes how dates render for them.

Hive language is the working language for call transcripts and for new tasks, features, and decisions that come out of a meeting. A person’s native language on Account is optional — when everyone on the call shares it, Whisper uses that; otherwise (and whenever a guest is on the call) the hive language wins.

Open People in the rail. The topbar jumps to Teams, and to pending invitations when any are waiting.

Managers invite by email. The link is also copyable if mail is slow. The invite is bound to that address.

  • Seats follow the platform plan. After the trial, the hive bills per active member.
  • Paid hives bill per active member; accepting an invite can change the Stripe quantity.
  • Managers change a person’s role and status (active / inactive) from the ⋮ menu on the roster. Status deactivates them: they lose access and free a seat; their past work stays. You cannot deactivate yourself, or deactivate or demote the last admin.
  • You cannot join a hive except by invite. “Create your hive” is always a new organization.

Named Teams are mention targets in chat (@Design) and a way to group the roster. They are not permissions. Project access is still project membership (or manager/admin). When you create or edit a team, pick people from the roster (search, then check). You can also assign teams from a person’s menu on People. In an assignee menu, click a team name to assign its people, or click it again to unassign them.

People who are in the hive right now show as online. Presence is a signal, not a timesheet.
