Billing

This is money flow A: the hive pays InHive via Stripe.

For invoicing your clients from time entries, see Time and invoicing. Those screens never share a button with this page.

The billing owner — an admin, unless a manager has set another billing owner. Members never pay personally.

The price unit is seats. There is no metered AI SKU and no overage pack. Every plan brings its own provider key; the hive token cap is a spending stop, not tokens InHive includes. Enterprise is the Team product on a contract. See Plans and AI settings.

Both self-serve plans bill per active member. Invites and deactivations sync to Stripe (with proration when configured).

Product copy says “Billed seats.” Dollar amounts live in Stripe.

  1. A manager opens Organization settings → Platform plan.
  2. Checkout starts from there when Stripe is configured for the host.
  3. After subscribe, seat changes and payment methods go through the Stripe customer portal (quantity editing must be enabled in that portal’s Stripe config).

A new hive gets a 14-day trial of Team. After that, Checkout from this page is how you stay on Studio or Team. Enterprise is Talk to us — not Checkout.

If the plan dropdown does nothing in production, the host has locked admin overrides. Use Checkout, not a silent plan flip.

Stripe is the source of truth for the subscription. Plan changes, seats, and payment methods go through Checkout and the customer portal — not a second billing screen inside the hive.

  1. Invitations stop immediately.
  2. AI keeps a short grace window, then pauses.
  3. Existing members keep working — tasks, documents, and time stay available.
