Browser clipper
The InHive Clipper is a Chromium extension. It creates a task as you, in a project you already belong to, and can paste screenshots into the description — the same way you paste an image on a task in InHive.
Install
Section titled “Install”Add InHive Clipper from the Chrome Web Store, then pin it on the toolbar.
Connect
Section titled “Connect”- Open the toolbar button. A small sheet appears on the page.
- Choose Connect to InHive. A window opens on the site.
- Sign in if you are not already, then Allow.
You do not paste a token. Disconnect later under Account → Clipper, or open the gear in the clipper and choose Connect again.
Capture and create
Section titled “Capture and create”The sheet stays only as large as the current step: connect, compose, sending, or done. Fields use placeholders instead of labels; a chosen project shrinks to a pill as wide as the name. Your name and hive live under the gear (settings), not on the compose step.
You do not need to open the clipper first. After it is installed (reload the extension if you just loaded it), the shortcuts work on any ordinary website:
Alt+Shift+S(Option+Shift+S on a Mac) selects a region of the page you are on. The clipper listens on the page itself, so this works even when Chrome has not bound the shortcut underchrome://extensions/shortcuts(Arc often does not). After you crop, the composer opens while the screenshot is added (a short progress tile). If the composer was already open, it hides while you drag so it is not in the screenshot. A fifth screenshot still opens the composer and tells you four is the limit. Creating the task adds a short From link to the page you captured.- Paste or drop an image into the composer — it lands in the description, not as a file in Documents, and still gets a From link to the page you were on.
- The
+in the description field starts a region capture too. Alt+Shift+Iopens the composer on the current page, without capturing.- Enter creates the task. In the description, Shift+Enter adds a newline.
- Escape or a click on the dimmed page closes the composer.
- After Create task, the sheet shrinks to a progress bar, then a success mark. Choose + another for a fresh draft, or Open it. Sending continues even if you close the sheet.
- Pick a project, type a title (required) and optional description, optionally assign people, add more images, then Create task.
- You can set the project and assignees first, close the sheet, and capture later. The draft stays until the task is sent.
- A task can go out with no image, or with several (up to four). If an image fails to paste, the task still exists — use Retry images or paste them on the task in InHive.
Some pages (Chrome settings, the Web Store) cannot show the sheet or crop a region. Capture from a regular website instead.
