Desktop app
The desktop app is the same InHive you use in the browser, in its own window. Chat, calls, boards, and settings are not a separate product.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”- A dock icon. Unread bell + chat counts show as a badge.
- Incoming-call, DM, and
@mentionbanners come from InHive, not Chrome or Safari. A DM or@mentionshows the sender’s photo when they have one. Turn those types on or off under Account → Notifications → Browser, same as the website. inhive://links open this app (for example from a teammate or a local shortcut). Email links still open the website until Universal Links ship.
You still need the network. The window loads the live site, so you are never on a stale copy.
What stays in the browser
Section titled “What stays in the browser”Billing checkout on Stripe continues in the browser.
Mic and camera prompts are macOS permission dialogs the first time you join. If screen share is blocked, join that call from a browser tab to share — do not expect a second call system.
Closed laptop still means email, not a phone push. Keep the app open (or a browser tab) for live rings.
